Down in the city, 4 a.m It's like a dream, a requiem We take the intersection, and in the wrong direction I guess we do that now and then The neon lights are crashing out Flashing colours seem to shout Dirty dives emerging, electric charge is surging On life's eternal roundabout Ignore those voices They don't know what they're saying It's like a radio station With only bad songs playing So turn the dial now for a while And adjust the frequency It's like a hundred times before With the pedal to the floor Even the slightest notion causes perpetual motion And hear the engine start to roar See the exit sign ahead We're gonna move along instead The next town's just the same, but with a different name Shift gear the lights are turning red Ignore those voices They don't know what they're saying It's like a radio station With only bad songs playing So turn the dial now for a while And adjust the frequency Eyes are open wide, who can see inside ? Eyes are open wide, who can see inside ? Eyes are open wide, who can see inside ? Eyes are open wide, who can see inside ?

Hear the scratching at the bedroom door And it's moving very slowly underneath the floor Counting down for the sun to rise The night has a thousand ways to paralyse The light coming from the crescent moon Splits the shadow cutting right across the freezing room As the clock ticks the time away As the clock ticks the time away Fever dream happens once again And now your mind's running faster than a bullet train Body slams on the solid ground Don't make another move until the morning comes around Feeling cold, breathing slow Try to stay awake but you just let go Into another fever dream Your face is contorted in a frozen scream I feel it burning, as it crawls beneath my skin It tries to take me, but I just can't let it in I feel it burning, as it crawls beneath my skin It tries to take me, but I just can't let it in I can't let it in...

I got my invite to the end of the world They said it's coming but they won't say when There's no location, there's no dress code Can I wear that old t-shirt again ? A room full of books and nothing to read A year with no weekends to remember What day is today, what time is now ? Is it April, is it May ? No, it's December Close your eyes, the blinding light Won't save you from the creatures of the night Join us all down in the hole And lose all sense of self-control We don't have all the time in the world I know we're all on a countdown Take what you can and make it last And I'll meet you in the streets when we go downtown Try not to see where the change is now Get no rewards for good behaviour Lock yourself away from the noise outside And the silence all around might be your saviour Close your eyes, the blinding light Won't save you from the creatures of the night Join us all down in the hole And lose all sense of self-control Day or night We'll work it out, we'll work it out You'll be alright We'll work it out, we'll work it out Forget your name We'll work it out, we'll work it out Who's to blame ? We'll work it out, we'll work it out Close your eyes, the blinding light Won't save you from the creatures of the night Join us all down in the hole And lose all sense of self-control And what time is now ? What time is now ? What time is now ? What time is now ?

It's dark at the start and then at the end The middle has lightness on which you can depend And if you leave early somebody might care But others won't notice you were even there Erasing the symptoms with masses of consumption Buying what we don't need should be on a prescription Pile high possessions, raising self-esteem Dying to get new things just to live the dream Society has been deceived They're lost to what they now believe Who empties the houses ? Who's clearing the floor ? Erasing the traces of what went by before A man in the next room screams in despair The silence that follows is like he was never there The coldness and the damp And it won't go away As they head towards us The undead on holiday Just two weeks of good times before it starts again Left with only memories of how it was back then Haunted generations frightened by the past Faced with human history that was made to last Learn from or destroy the things that came before You can't fight the legacy they've locked behind the door Society has been deceived They're lost to what they now believe And in the end it's all the same So flick the switch and start again
5.
My life is black and white Can't tell the day from night To get the colour free Do I need my TV ? A broken mirror frame Down on the floor again The glass is everywhere I see you standing there The image is disguised All vanity and lies It's in the way you dress Failure is no success Without a filter life is passing by Time is moving and we don't ask why Take a picture that will go unseen We'll make adjustments to the silver screen Get the balance right Beamed in by satellite An electric shock Now try and beat the clock Don't shoot the messenger Or raise the temperature I guess the time is now For them to show you how Where did the colour go ? From everything we know ? Hit pause we're heading home Go back to monochrome Without a filter life is passing by Time is moving and we don't ask why Take a picture that will go unseen We'll make adjustments to the silver screen Swipe left, swipe right The future's not so bright Swipe left, swipe right Oh, the future is not so bright

You're Void 04:01
We're here again and stuck in the middle You and me on an ever moving treadmill Can't ever hit the brakes, the panic overtakes And it's tearing us to pieces Seems to me we're heading for a roadblock Push and shove to try and break the deadlock Dark eyes of misery are weighing down on me As we're walking down the backstreets Politics are buzzing in your eardrum Divides us all and no one knows the outcome All this uncertainty feels like eternity Are we living in a nightmare ? Slam the door there's nothing here to confess And we wonder why we are left with much less The reasons several, most of them federal But no one's pressing charges Watch out, here comes destiny You're void, basic chemistry Watch out, here comes destiny You're void, basic chemistry Up ahead I see the sign Across the borderline The lights will change again But here we all remain Haven't you had enough yet ? Exactly what you trying to get ? Both sides claim they're speaking the truth Neither side has got any proof Your perfect world is just a mirage Wild conjecture firmly in charge I don't think this is working out Ask again 'cos that's the mindset Haven't you had enough yet ? You've got to question where to begin To try and find the answer within It starts and ends without any means Nothing's ever how it first seems Stop the world I'm getting off
7.
As the morning chased away the night Nothing comes to those who see the dying of the light Memories of Christmas Eve written in the stars Stopping for a round of drinks in old train station bars Dreaming of a time that was never really there Does it even matter and what do we even care ? A eulogy unwritten and thoughts we never said But what's the point of speaking in the city of the dead ? The past calls out, no one hears It gets drowned out with every year And we move forward As the dawn breaks, the birds all start to fly There's still a veil of darkness in the cold suburban sky Streetlights mark the journey we make over time Stretching out for miles along the frozen borderline If the city tries to drag you down And you've got an urgency to get out of this town Jump the kerbside, the pavements and the cracks Meet me, 8 pm, down by the frozen railway tracks The past calls out, no one hears It gets drowned out with every year And we move forward...
